Woot. 5 people. Ok, as long as there's even 1 person reading, i will continue updating. woot.

Ruiyi -
hmm, hello. didn't know you read my blog =X why do you say i'm attention whoring? By the way, that previous post was generated because of you , you know :)
It's not your fault at all, but it was because after i went to your blog, then chris was telling me abt how popular your blog is, then i started questioning my own blog's viewership. hence the self-doubt etc.
As a blogger yourself, i think you'll agree when i say you WANT people to read your blog. i mean, who doesn't? Unless it's a personal diary, bloggers generally blog because they want the world to read/view it. What's the point of posting pictures / writing things when noone reads them?
Which brings me back to my question, why do you say i'm 'attention whoring'? I really wanna know. i mean, it's definitely a negative thing - so i want to correct it =X could you post a comment on this entry? (tagboard is so small). Thanks alot =)

Ok anyway, i've done more photoshopped stuff, check out my portfolio site to view them!

oh oh , but i HAVE to post this one here, because i think it's my best work so far. :p i just LOVE how it turned out. better than i expected. :p haha.

hahahahaa. chris i'll buy you a drink to make up for this or something. hahahaha. i just love this piece. ;)

EDIT:
continued discussion:

Ruiyi: Nope. I blog for my friends whose photos you see up there. I want us all to look back in the future and see how much times we've been through and such. Guess we're on parallel universes

2 Aug 06, 21:27
alan: isn't that the same as what i've said? you put up photos - for people to view them! if noone views them, your point of blogging is defeated
alan: n if ur SOLE purpose was to look at pictures, why not use flickr?

2 Aug 06, 21:42
Ruiyi: Can I write what happened on flickr? Can I trackback? Can I elaborate? The people I'm doing it for is for my friends. But you seem like you're trying to get the whole world's attention.

2 Aug 06, 21:54
alan: exactly, so you ARE writing for viewership - of your friends. well, if my blogs seem like that, it's probably because i'm influenced by other 'popular' blogs. i read xiaxue/mrbrown alot,
alan: and they write for the masses. could you pinpoint a particular entry which i seem like what you've said? i'll try to cut down on it, but i need to know exactly what.

Ok i made those tags in several seconds without properly thinking through my point, now that i've stopped dotaing ill be sure to carefully consider what i say.

RY, i really don't get what you're trying to criticize here. When you say 'seem like you're trying to get the whole world's attention', do you mean it in an exaggerated way (you seem to want to get the attention of all your friends and acquaintances) or do you literally mean the whole world, as in the public?

I've looked through my most recent entries, namely the latest page. I still can't find a decent example of attention-whoring.

Let's examine this very first tag of yours: "Ruiyi: Just my two cents, you're overdoing the attention whore thing. Nono, not good."

What exactly is attention-whoring? To paraphrase, i would say it's attention-hoarding, or to try to accumulate attention by various means (often negative)

What type of attention-whoring is there? I can only think of 2 -
a) posting many (attractive) pictures of oneself,(e.g. Dawn Yang) with the purpose of drawing the attention of viewers with those attractive photos. b) writing on controversial topics, (e.g. mrbrown) in order to attract more people with your 'oh-so-wonderful' views.

1) i do not post pictures of myself for no proper reason. any picture posed is purely for entertainment purposes - in other words, for some humour value. If you can pinpoint a picture which is otherwise, let me know.
about the half-naked thing - i still stand by what i say that those are NOT half naked photos, and anyway, now that i have photoshop, i'll just cut out my head only next time, or whatever portions i want.

2) controversial issues? that long rant? I don't write on these for fun you know. Those are things that bother me. i dont like breathing in smoke, i dont like seeing men touch each other in public (indian or not). If i don't go and extinguish all the incense and burning paper and beat up gay men, the only way for me to express my disgruntlement would be by words - through my blog.

So, please enlighten me. Why am i an attention whore.

p.s. hmm, point a) is in no way referring to you, just in case it is misintrepeted as an indirect attack at you as you post pics of yourself alot. your pics are hilarious ^^
